Single tooth implants in Pontefract

Dental implants at Ropergate Dental Care & Implant Studio

Dental Implant Enquiries: 01977 602206

Our first-class single tooth implant treatment is a fantastic replacement for missing teeth. They are almost indistinguishable from natural teeth and can help patients feel more confident with their smiles and enjoy the foods they want to eat. Over time, teeth can move into the gap left behind by a missing tooth – and the bone that surrounds the lost root can start to deteriorate. With a single dental implant, the artificial tooth root helps to preserve the bone, but won’t affect the neighbouring teeth. A crown is then fitted, which is colour-matched to your existing teeth. Dr James Harrison, our dental implant expert, has successfully placed over 700 tooth implants, giving patients the ability to smile with confidence and enjoy the foods they love once more.

  • Replace single missing teeth
  • Look, feel and act like natural teeth
  • Restore function, allowing you to smile, chew and eat with confidence again
  • Can help reduce wear on neighbouring teeth
  • Long-lasting and cost-effective

Frequently asked questions

About dental implants here at Ropergate Dental Care & Implant Studio

  1. How does a dental implant work?

They look, feel and work like real teeth – whether replacing one tooth or many, or to fix dentures in place. – Under local anaesthetic, a titanium screw is first placed beneath the gum line, into the jawbone – Over a period of 3-6 months, the healing process causes the bone and implant to fuse. A temporary crown or bridge can be worn at this time – When healed, the screw acts as an artificial tooth root and a crown or bridge is attached

  2. Does treatment hurt?

The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic, to minimise discomfort. We also offer our nervous patients dental sedation. Finally, over-the-counter painkillers can help ease discomfort and pain following treatment.

  3. How long does the process take?

While everyone is different, oral health factors like gum disease may affect treatment times and healing times vary, a typical dental implant treatment takes 3-6 months*. If you need any teeth extracting, this is done before the implant treatment begins. Once the implants are placed and healed, an impression is taken in order to create a bespoke crown and/or bridge to fit on top of the implant, which is done at your final appointment.

  4. How will my smile look?

We want all our patients to feel comfortable and confident with their smiles. We’ll give you every opportunity to preview your smile before the implants are fitted – for most, you’ll see your smile in your own mouth before we carry out any work.

  5. How long do tooth implants last?

With proper care, they can last many years. One of the best things about them is that they’re just as easy to look after as your natural teeth – with twice-daily brushing and flossing, and regular check-ups and hygiene appointments.

  6. Who can have dental implants?

Very few cases lead to a patient being unsuitable for implants. Before carrying out your treatment, we’ll conduct a thorough assessment to ensure you’ll be able to benefit from them.

  7. How do I look after my tooth implants?

You can care for them through brushing and flossing twice a day, as well as attending regular check-ups.
